Affectionately and perchance even reverently known in Charlottesville as the Pennsylvania Cowboy, Daniel Zezeski began performing on guitar in his hometown of Scranton in 2000 and brought his dark-rock siren songs to central Virginia in 2007. Danny is a contemporary and cited colleague of fellow northeast rockers The Menzingers and Tigers Jaw and first crashed the Charlottesville music scene in 2007, playing drums for a local alt-country band. He eventually moved on to showcase his lead guitar and songwriting skills in Northern Diver with Bailee Elizabeth and Jeff Otis, finally morphing into a the role of lead-man as Beako in 2011. In the meantime he has collaborated and toured with fellow County Wide bands Pantherburn and Mister Baby and continues to appear with varying lineups in addition to performing his own music.
Since embarking on his path as a solo artist, Daniel has haunted many a soul up and down the east coast with his distinctively spare and graceful little melodies of earnest despair. His clear, concise and simply poetic lyricism is unparalleled and incomparable, nearly a haiku diary of astute observations and sad acceptances, and his clear, strong yet yielding voice delivers his stories as if in confidence to each ear lucky enough to catch them. Danny is a prolific songwriter and avid home-recording enthusiast and will be releasing an EP recorded and engineered by Jesse Fiske at Single Barrel Studio in late spring of 2012.
Equally at home playing an acoustic guitar with a synthesized drum beat as leading a full live band while playing his daphne blue Fender Mustang, Beako is to be neither anticipated nor forgotten. Prepare to hear his songs repeat themselves in your mind over and over after even casual listening!
